The Park Hill Talking Trojans have earned the Prestigious Societe’ de 300 given to the top 1% of Speech and
Debate Schools in the country. Park Hill has more than 300 members and degrees. This makes them one of the largest programs in the country.They will continue to build on their legacy of excellence as they finish out their
semester at the Independence Winter Classic. Wish them luck.

    Park Hill High School Performing Arts Presents Newsies

    They delivered the papers, until they made headlines…Newsies, the smash-hit, crowd-pleasing musical from Disney is now playing at Park Hill High School. A two-time Tony Award-winning show, Newsies has audiences and critics alike calling it “a musical worth singing about!” (The New York Times). Filled with one heart-pounding number after another, it’s a high-energy explosion of song and dance you don’t want to miss.

    Now is the time to seize the day with Newsies, playing November 15-17 at Park Hill High School.

    Tickets go on sale to the public on Thursday, October 25. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door.

    STUDENT OF THE DAY: Lelise MeKonnin, nominated by Ms. Loughran for running over 300 miles this summer. Some days, she ran from her house to the location of the cross country summer run, ran the workout, and then ran home! She is off to a great start for the 2019 season. Congratulations!     Attention students interested in Anime and Japanese culture. The Anime Club will have its first meeting next Friday, August 30th. The Club will meet in the 300’s South pod after school around 2:45. We will be showing some of the new anime that came out this summer as well as discuss some of our club activities for the year.


    If you have ALREADY PURCHASED A PARKING PASS and have not yet gotten it placed on your vehicle, please come to the Activities window tomorrow at 7:00 a.m. to have it placed on your vehicle and bring your drivers license, current proof of insurance, current vehicle registration and your paid receipt for the parking pass. If you have any questions, please stop at the Activities window.


    Student Council's second annual Trojan tailgate is August 30th from 5 pm until kickoff in the east (baseball) parking lot. There will be games, booths, spirit squads, food trucks, and activities. Join us for the fun!

    The first Fellowship of Christian Athletes Hudl meeting is happening on Tuesday, August 27th in room 526 at 7:00 a.m. All are welcome and we hope to see you there!


    FCCLA will have their first meeting on Monday, August 26 at 2:40 p.m. in room 43.


    Young Democrats will have its first meeting of the year next Monday, August 26th in room 310. We will be discussing our plans for the year and the upcoming elections. All are welcome!


    The first Conservation Club meeting is this Friday, August 23rd in room 504 at 2:45. All are welcome and we hope to see you there! If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Khalandi.


    Any student interested in auditioning or working backstage for the fall musical, “Mary Poppins” is invited to attend a workshop and informational meeting on Monday, August 26th at 2:45 in Room 531. Students will receive information about backstage positions, the audition process and the rehearsal schedule. The audition songs will be reviewed so that students may prepare prior to auditions. The workshop is very helpful when preparing for the audition, but it is not required. Please see Mrs. Sandau in Room 540 if you have any questions.


    Yearbook presale price increases in two weeks! See Ms. Carnes for details. Parents are able to purchase a yearbook through the parent portal. Price is $65 and goes up to $70 on Tuesday, September 3.


    Black Student Union will hold their first meeting this Thursday, August 22nd right after school in room 512. All are welcome. Please see Mrs. Grider with any questions.


    The first meeting of the 2019-2020 Park Hill Speech and Debate Team will be on Thursday, August 22 at 2:45 in room 325. All are welcome. Practice begins every Thursday at 2:45 and ends promptly at 3:30. Come meet some friends and discover your voice!


    Are you interested in helping raise school spirit at Park Hill? Any junior or senior interested in joining TARKUS should come to our first meeting of the year on Thursday, August 22nd after school in room 103. See Mr. Harman for details.



    Sophomores: There will be a Jostens Sophomore Class Ring Premier meeting on Thursday, August 22 during Homeroom in the Auditorium. This meeting is mandatory for all sophomores. Order instructions and information packets for your class ring will be distributed at that time.
