The boys ran in the Suburban Gold Conference race last Saturday at Lee’s Summit North. The Suburban Gold Conference is probably the toughest conference on this side of the state.

The team finished 6th out of 6 teams and we had two runners finish in the top 20 to make the ‘All Conference Team’. The two runners to make All Conference were Dan Foster (16:51) and Isaiah Phillips (16:57). This is the first time since 2011 that we have had two runners below 17 minutes.

Our varsity team for district (10/20 @ Jesse James Park in Kearney):

          Dan Foster

          Isaiah Phillips

          Ryan Fette

          Evan Ericksen

          Vince Costanzo

          Durant Lipford

          Kevin Johnson

          Colby Duarte

          Thomas Packard

          Brian Sweney

The top 30 runners and top four teams in the district race will advance to the Sectional race. The top 30 runners and top four teams at the sectional race will advance to State.

After a lengthy rain delay last Saturday, the girls cross country team ran in the Suburban Gold Conference race at Lee’s Summit North Suburban Gold contains some of the largest teams, fastest times and most challenging field of competitors in the state of Missouri.

Lelise Mekonnin was part of the All Conference team, coming in 20th in the race with a time of 20:26. Due to the weather, the team had the opportunity to run JV and Varsity together, and we saw a number of PR's and some very tough, competitive running by all of our girls.

The Park Hill varsity team for Districts includes Lelise Mekonnin, Brooklyn Niebaum, Avery Blakley, Abby Fette, Amelia Pelaez, Avery Bloss, Frances Swayne and Kaylie Wallace, who will be training over the next two weeks for our 10/20 meet @ Jesse James Park in Kearney.

Please congratulate the girls on a great lead up to our post season, and wish them luck in our upcoming races!
