The PHHS PTSA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit association chartered under the MO PTA and the National PTA. The PTSA exists to engage families and community members in providing a rich educational experience for ALL students and to connect parents with the school. It is the charge of the board to do just that through meaningful programs and services. Do you have the skills and desire to join the team? Open positions for the 2020-2021 school year are:
President: Time commitment is set by board goals. A few hours each month at a minimum. Most of the programs are turn-key
1. Preside at monthly meetings (sets agenda)
2. Coordinate the work of the officers and committees
3. Serve as an ex-officio member of all committees (chairs the auction, Senior Parents Reception and Car Care 101 committees unless chairs can be found)
4. Puts together a welcome letter for the summer mailing
5. Update the PTSA website information when and where necessary
6. Presents the scholarship awards along with the Scholarship chair
Scholarship: Minimal time commitment
1. Oversees the promotion and judging of the scholarship forms. Works with the school's scholarship coordinator.
2. Update the scholarship form on the PTSA page on the school website.
3. Presents scholarship awards along with the president
Membership: Busy late summer/start of school year
1. Man the Membership table at registration and Open House both in August
2. Update the three Membership Forms as needed and send updated copies
to school webmaster
3. Print copies of forms for Membership events and as needed
4. Upload membership data to spreadsheet (edit existing form)
Communications: A couple of hours per month
1. Creates newsletter, updates social media
PTSA Youth Sponsor: Commitment set by group goals. A few hours each month at a minimum.
1. Meets twice monthly (1st and 3rd Mondays) with youth members directly after school in the library
2. Coordinate January Blood Drive, advocacy event (this year we are attending the MO PTA)
3. Coordinate one to two community involvement events (this year we are baking dog treats for the KC Pet Project and helping in the Operation Breakthrough warehouse)
4. Decorate a homecoming float if the group decides to enter one
These are great kids. They have energy, passion and are eager to make a difference in our school and community. Are you the person to help lead them on their journey?
